Japan?s Rakuten shifts emphasis to mobile games that can be used without need for app installation ? JSW Corporation.

The Japan based e-commerce firm, Rakuten Inc., debuted Rakuten Games this week aiming to produce games that do not require local installation on devices. The games can be enjoyed on internet browsers or played within the framework of other applications. It is hoped that this will ease the process for game players who want to play against each other or compete without waiting for games to install or committing to loading new software on their devices.

?Rakuten has revealed that games based on all time classics like Space Invaders and Pacman are to be made available on Rakuten?s online based platform,? said Vivian Wang, Chief Economist at China based JSW Corporation.

Internet giants like Tencent Holdings Ltd. and Facebook Inc. have also incorporated comparable strategies, looking to hold consumers within their services and applications rather than directing the to application stores to download additional software.
