First VRV Memorial Lecture to be delivered by Hon\'ble Governor of Kerala, Justice P Sathasivam

The Annual V.R. Venkatakrishnan Memorial Lecture Series will present eminent lawyers, judges and other public personalities as speakers on chosen topics every year for the benefit of the judicial officers & lawyers in alliance with the Kerala Judicial Academy. These lecture series will focus on topics and issues under the three fundamental pillars of talents, techniques& temperament
The First annual V.R. Venkatakrishnan Memorial lecture series will be delivered on the 25th of November 2016 by the Hon\'ble Governor of Kerala, Justice P Sathasivam (the former Chief Justice of India) at the Kerala High Court Auditorium. This will be followed by two lectures at the Kerala Judicial Academy on the 26th November 2016 by Dr. Jagdish Khattar, Former CEO and MD of Maruti Suzuki and celebrated and veteran IAS Officer with an astonishingly diverse career and Mr.VGiri, senior counsel at Supreme Court of India and former judge of Kerala High Court.
The V.R. Venkatakrishnan Memorial Lectures is fully sponsored and instituted in the fond memory of his illustrious father by his eldest son based in Delhi, Mr. V.V. Ranganathan, an eminent Chartered Accountant, social worker and editor of the book ?Living with Laws? and author of other well acclaimed biographies. This is the first in the series of this annual memorial lectures instituted in the memory of his father to foster the idea of truth & righteousness.
The lectures focus on topics and issues of Talents- the need to acquire and continuously update knowledge, Techniques- the ability to adopt modern methodologies and processes to deliver timely justice and Temperament- the need to embrace and observe an attitude in consonance with the judicial responsibilities and perceptions.
About V.R. Venkatakrishnan
Late V.R. Venkatakrishnan (1925-2014) was an active and celebrated lawyer for over 61 years at the Kerala High Court. He is one of the last senior members of the profession who came to the High Court of Kerala from the Madras Bar in 1956 when the State of Kerala was formed. His book ?Living with Laws? is a candid account of his life as a lawyer where he recounts his professional journey that took him through the labyrinths of a justice system of yesteryears spanning over 61 long years. During this period he rubbed shoulders with some eminent lawyers and judges.
