Portsmouth, NH – Dr. Lawrence Gray of Atlantic Plastic Surgery Center attended the 20th Congress of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons held in San Francisco from August 14th though the 18th, 2001. Over 2,000 plastic surgeons from around the world participated in this prestigious, educational conference. The focus of the conference was on patient safety and recent advancements in cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Gray presented a paper on his experience with the Axis 3D Breast Imager. His presentation focused on the improved results obtained with fewer revisions using the Imager, which allows patients to preview the proposed result in advance of the surgery. In general, Dr. Gray reported, patients often choose a smaller implant size than they would have liked due to fear that the result with a larger implant size would look unnatural. Dr. Gray continued that, with the aid of the Axis 3D Imager, patients are able to view a realistic image of what an implant size will look like on their body.

Dr. Gray also attended a panel on forehead lift and eyelid surgery. New and innovative techniques were discussed that produce more natural results than are currently offered. Dr. Gray is the only member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons from New Hampshire.
