Singapore – August 24, 2010 - Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ: AKAM), the leading provider of cloud optimization services, today announced the appointment of Mr. Philip Chua as Country Manager for Singapore and Malaysia.

In his new role, Philip is responsible for driving business growth and building the Akamai brand in both markets. Drawing on his 18 years of experience in the IT industry, Philip will also be responsible for expanding Akamai’s client base in Singapore and Malaysia, building on the current portfolio that includes Standard Chartered Bank, AirAsia, Media Prima, Cathay Pacific Airlines, Malaysian Airlines and ESPN STAR Sports.

Philip has occupied many leadership positions within multinational companies, most recently as Managing Director, Asia South, for LexisNexis. Prior to this, Philip was General Manager (Software) for South Asia at Hewlett-Packard and Country Manager for Computer Associates (CA) in Singapore.
