The Ontario, Canada hunting and fishing resort is embracing the next generation of web and digital development.

Lakewood Ranch, Fla. ? Wildewood on Lake Savant has redesigned its corporate website with
the goal of streamlining its reservation process and maximizing user engagement.

The new website, which first went live in November 2015 and remains live, features several notable changes to the former site's visual structure and overall layout. In addition, the resort also has eliminated outdated Web 1.0 strategies?such as having a website that serves only as a source of information in order to constitute requisite web presence?in favor of keeping pace with current Web 2.0 trends and demands.

Interactive third-party maps have been integrated into the site to orient visitors and assist with trip planning. Drop-down menus and smoother page and graphics transitions better organize web content, and visitors can submit user data and initiate resort reservations via web form. The website also has been optimized for mobile use.

Worth mentioning, however, is that in keeping with web development's (unofficial) Web 2.0 rubric, the resort's most significant development is that the website is now primed for user-generated content, and the future integration of popular internet applications that will allow video and social-media sharing throughout the site.
