Mumbai, INDIA: In the news for its growing fan following and increasing popularity, Twitter is also putting money where its mouth is. There is an increased interest in Twitter, and there are deals being struck which redefine the company as we speak.
Twitter is on the brink of closing out an $800 million dollar deal, which is set to pave the way for future growth. The move is also an attempt at buying out existing employees and investors. While Twitter was originally valued at a little over $3.5 billion in December, it is likely to be valued at approximately $8 billion once all formalities are completed.
“There is great activity being seen on Twitter. Not just in terms of the number of users which is
growing by the hour, but also in the structure and dynamics within the company. The news of existing investment is only one of many opportunities which are waiting to knock. With several other investors looking to strike deals, there is great promise for Twitter. While we hear news of possible takeovers and going public, it looks like the graph of Twitter is on the continuous rise,” said Mr. C R Vijay, representative of Tweet Tweet Brand Agency.
There is, however, also a flip side to the story. “There is a greater demand that will be placed on Twitter. Although it is going in the same direction as Facebook did in its initial days, there is increased competition and great expectation. It needs to have a defined goal and strong business model to back it, considering its revenues still leave a lot to be desired when compared to other start ups”, said Mr. Kaushal Gandhi, Director in Aaris Internet Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Aaris closely monitors all news and movements related to Social Media Marketing, and has developed Twitter marketing as an area of competence.
There are several companies looking to ride on Twitter marketing for the scope and scale that it offers. It is certainly heartening for them to know that Twitter is on the path to excel. However, if Twitter is the platform that can continue to live up to expectations it can only be seen with time.
