A product has come onto the market that is designed as a tool to help people practice mindfulness on a regular basis. Its a clock that doesnt actually tell time. While that may seem like a strange thing for people to buy, more and more people are finding themselves wanting to become more mindful of the present moment. And that is where this clock comes in.

Instead of having hands that tell time, the Now Clock, as its called, has the word NOW in the middle of the clock face. So when people look at the clock, it reminds them of what time it actually is. The time is now.

The Now Clock also has a moving pendulum, which catches the eye, and draws ones attention to this unique tool. Theres a choice of different styles of engraved wood pendulums, such as a buddha, and an ohm symbol.

The Now Clock has been making its way into doctors offices, yoga studios, business offices, schools and classrooms, and homes across the country and the world.

People are beginning to use the Now Clock as a tool to bring themselves back into the present moment and focus on mindfulness.

Mindfulness is the practice of purposely focusing your attention on the present moment and accepting it without judgment.

Mindfulness practices have been scientifically proven to improve physical health in a number of ways. Mindfulness can help relieve stress, treat heart disease, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain, and improve sleep.

In recent years, psychotherapists have turned to mindfulness meditation as an important element in the treatment of a number of problems, including depression, substance abuse, eating disorders, couples conflicts, anxiety disorders, obsessive- compulsive disorder.

By focusing on the here and now, many people who practice mindfulness find that they are less likely to get caught up in worries about the future or regrets over the past, are less preoccupied with concerns about success and self-esteem, and are better able to form deep connections with others.

The Now Clock is being used as a mindfulness meditation tool with great success.

Now when I begin my morning, this clock is my beautiful reminder that Now is really all there is, which allows me to focus on being present, and set my intent to begin my day with the state of being I choose. Cherilyn Jones

Every time I glance over and see the clock, I smile. It's a powerful "pattern interrupt" for my highly-active cerebral processing mechanism (my mind) that tends to get caught up in planning or stories or figuring things out. Thank goodness the Now clock brings me back to Right Here, Right Now, and supports me in getting out of my head and back into the moment.

It's beautiful, it's quiet, but most of all, it exudes tranquility. There's something about the silently-swinging pendulum and the design of the clock... I'm not sure what it is... but it radiates a deep calmness and peace into my space. I have it hanging on the wall of my office, next to where I sit most of the time, and it's just there, silently calling for my attention, bringing me back into the moment, again and again and again.

The clock is beautiful, the pendulum is gorgeous, and I'm thrilled to have discovered this "timeless" work of art that adds a powerful depth of awareness to my space. Anne Timpany
