The APAC region is Driving Demand for Medical Image Processing

London, UK - April 07, 2011 -- Research conducted by Technavio reveals, that the global medical image processing market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8 percent. The report, which focuses on the Americas, EMEA and APAC indicates, that the market is currently driven by the strong demand from the APAC region.

“The APAC region is proving to be the most promising market for the growth of the medical image processing industry. This growing demand is driven by a large patient population especially in China and India. Further, increasing demand from the medical tourism segment in certain countries such as Singapore and Malaysia is also driving the market,” reports Technavio analyst.

In spite of the need, challenges in managing large volumes of data hinder the growth of this market. However, with mobile medical imaging equipment expected to replace high-end static models, the market is expected to grow.
