?Blueair?, the leading Swedish manufacturer of indoor and outdoor air purifier, has forayed into the East Indian market, particularly Kolkata, by launching four varieties of two of its latest products to help remove airborne contaminants hazardous dust particles and deadly viruses from the surroundings. Launching the dual high end products, cost between Rs 40,000 and Rs 95,000 each, Mr Erik afUgglas, Blueair Director and a senior Advisor claimed that both the products would not only go a long way towards completely purifying the breathing air, but also removing the deadly viruses like HI Nl, commonly known as Swine flu.

?Blueair purifiers entry into India while serving more than 50 countries worldwide is a very important milestone in our global growth strategy?, said Mr afUgglas and claimed that after the United States, China and Japan, India could well become the 4th largest consumers of Blueair products within the next couple of years with about 15 per cent year on year growth in sales.

?Since our entry into the country about four years ago and opening offices in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru to study the market, we have been able to sale about 60,000 to 70,000 units per annum which was bare minimum in terms of the total volume of the company?s sales in China, USA and Japan apart from several other country?, said the Blueair Director.

Speaking to Morning India on the sidelines of the launch, Mr afUgglas denied having any immediate plan to set up the company?s own manufacturing unit in India, saying that despite a substantial jump in sales they would continue to import the ready-made products at least for the next few years.

Since Blueair has two state of the plants in neighbouring China and one each in South Africa, Sweden and the USA, the decision to set up another unit here at a cost of several million of dollars would be a non- viable proposition?, felt Mr afUgglas.

Speaking more about the air purifier products and Blueair?s global operations which had recorded a stupendous 500 per cent jump in sales during the last five years, the company Director claimed that they were ?confident in their ability to meet the opportunities in the highly-evolved Indian market ?Currently we are entering the Indian market with only four our products of a total stable of over 20 different varieties?, Mr afUgglas said and hoped to bring the rest within the next couple of years, aiming to meet the demand of super-rich individuals and corporate giants like elsewhere in the world?, he added.
