Study Vault Education Pvt. Ltd and DPS School Indrapuram together organized two days? workshop for students and parents on ?A positive attitude is key to success? and ?Positive Parenting, Creating a positive learning environment and Digital exposure? respectively. The event was graced in the presence of Principal Meeta Rai ? DPS Indrapuram, Girish Sachdev Director Study Vault, Expert Speaker Sumeet Saluja, more than 300 students from class 7 - 11, approx. 300 parents and Faculty members.
Principal Meeta Rai in her opening address thanked Study Vault Education team for building this platform and helping in bringing parents and teachers together.
Speaker Jyotsna Bharadwaj while addressing students guided them on how to strategize the plan which could not only be realistic and achievable but also measurable and result oriented. She guided on how to start thinking on planning, analysing them, think on failures and re-plan and take actions. She advised to focus on prioritising the goals, making plans accordingly, start working and stick to it. Students generally fail in setting up the goal which leads to no or low result. It is also very much important to write down the plans and think what are you doing, why are you doing and how are you going to achieve it. A very interesting discussion also took on the triple ?C? concept which talked on: Challenges, Consequences and Choices. She also said stress should be used in a positive way and that can lead to distressing and positive result.
Ashtha Bhat of VIII ?A?, a SIP student of Study Vault, said that the workshop was need of the hour as Boards exams are approaching. She got better idea on how to frame her timing for revisions and practices. She will now be more focused and will be able to analyse the loopholes and rework on them for better results.
Jyotsna Bharadwaj said that parents need to share their time with child. Today, the most common problem faced by child is the feeling of being unwanted, uncared. And this is the responsibility of parents to make them feel loved, secured and belongingness. It is important to make a child feel that parents are there for him, believe and support them. Parenting is very instinctive. Acceptance of child as he is also becomes crucial. Comparison, peer group pressure effects the child?s life. Children at this stage are in their adolescence stage. It becomes crucial that how this phase is handled by parents. Many times parents are strict, intent behind this is right but are they using the right way to express it.
The workshop was successful as both students and parents were able to take up some learnings with them. Students learned how to plan their board cum competitive exams. It was felt that the time division and managing it well can enhance their overall results.
On the hand, parents learned how to express and tackle situation in the right way. The time has come to not to be an authoritative parent but be a friend with the clear boundaries of liberty, about which your child should be aware.
